Portable Displays! What’s the difference, anyway?

View our Patented Telescoping Channel Bars

Our Pop-up Displays are the most convenient trade show exhibits on the market. These pop-up booths are lightweight, portable and easy to assemble. Popup trade show displays are an excellent choice for nearly all trade shows and conventions. They are especially vital in a competitive environment, where a smaller table-top or banner stand just won't do. Our pop-up display booths easily accept large graphic panels, are easily shipped and transported, and can be assembled in less that 30 minutes by just one person.

Portable Displays! What’s the difference, anyway?

  1. You see them everywhere.  They all look the same on the web.  Why are some Portable Trade Show Displays $2000+ and some are $900.  We would like to think that these are all equal, and that we have just hit the jackpot, saving a thousand dollars. RIGHT? Wrong. The unseen differences are big.  Here are a few things that are premium on our displays:

  2. Hubs are DuPont Super Tuff nylon, almost indestructible, an Engineering Thermoplastic, cost $5.00 per pound.  Others use ABS, a good plastic, just not for this, costs $1.00 per pound. Our QA test is freezing our hubs, and having our production guys throw them at the ground as hard as they can without breaking.  You say I live in Hawaii, it never freezes here.  How about that airplane at 40,000 feet, how cold is it?  Then you arrive at your destination… we all know how gentle baggage handlers are.

  3. Aluminum tubing, theirs is typically dead soft, like a beer can. It bends and stays bent. Ours is 5051-T6.  This is aluminum that is higher quality, so it can be heat treated.  The heat treating makes it much stronger/springy, helping keep the tubes from bending.

  4. Our tubing is powder coated, for good looks and to keep your hands from getting black handling it as the tubing oxidizes with age (it’s a scientific fact).

  5. We rivet our hubs to the tubing.  We hear it all the time, that riveting is cheap.  The reality is that a GOOD rivet machine costs $20,000. It takes two special sizes ($40,000) to complete a frame.  You will also hear things like, “you can do field repairs with screws and nuts”. Our frames don’t need field repairs.  This is a typical competitor’s sales person trying to make lemonade out of lemons.

  6. Our Pop Up Display uses self aligning, magnet to magnet, panel attachment.  Others use magnet to steel channel bars. If you don’t put the panel on exactly right, you might pull it up and do it again.  With magnet to magnet panel attachment, you just put the panel on and it aligns itself instantly.

  7. We have 7 channel bars (1 piece), instead of 21 channel bars like others.  Again, they require using less than 1/3 the assembly time.  We also offer 1 piece telescoping aluminum channel bars (pat # 5,501,051) as an option for simple, lifetime usage.  We are the only manufacturer offering them.

  8. We use only Melded Fabrics, Prelude and Frontrunner fabric which meet Flammability & Toxicity Rating:
    ASTM E84-91a “tunnel test”
UBC 8-2 (42-2, 1991 UBC) fully lined protocol
    CAN/ULC – S102-M88
New York State Art.15 Part 1120 Toxicity Test
  9.  “No one told me this”, you say.  When the Fire Marshall asks you for your fire retardant rating and you can’t provide it…. Who knows if you will be able to use your display?  Also a couple of shows down the line when your fabric starts to fray from using Velcro on it, will your display provider warranty it? Melded Fabrics material is Velcro rated/recommended for a hook monofilament of 8 mils or less.  At those prices they CAN’T AFFORD TO.

  10. Does your display provider give you a lifetime warranty on the frame AND channel bars.  The typical imported display has many fragile plastic parts that get lost and/or broken. Even if they do warranty them, it doesn’t help you when you’ve spent THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS to make a great first impression, and your display is held together with duct tape.

  11. Our shipping case is Roto Molded, not blow molded.  It is heavier walled and much less subject to shipping damage.  There is a week that goes by when we don’t get a competitor case with the top missing, and half the contents gone. Again Blow Molding is lighter and 50% cheaper.

  12. We REALLY are the manufacturer. The majority of the web sellers are working from their house/office.  They are getting their product drop shipped from the manufacturer. We invite you to call and make an appointment to tour our manufacturing facility.

  13. Being on the West Coast, we can ship items after other people are closed, sometimes saving the day.

  14. Quality Customer Service is not a goal it is reality.  When you call use, you get a human being 99.99% of the time, not an answering machine over and over again.

In short, we are professionals that offer ‘the complete package’ that makes no excuses.  Call us and let us put a package together for you.
